So What's Next?

Many of you written, saying things like, "I know I have a good voice - I just don't know what do with it."

Sometimes getting started is the hardest part. Here are some ideas on how to get your voice heard:

1) Join your local church or school choir - tryout for solo, duet, and major parts. Get involved in the activities and get to know your choir director. They may be able to give you lessons on the side.

2) Team up - find a guitarist or pianist to write songs with. Decide if you want to do original songs, cover other people's tunes, or a combination of both. You can perform at local coffeehouses, open mics, weddings, etc.

3) Record a demo - it doesn't have to be a huge production - just 3-4 karaoke songs that show off your voice. You can use these songs to introduce your voice to others and it may help get your foot in the door to singing for a professional band.

These are just a few tips - I bet once you put your imagination to it, you will come up with many of your own ideas.

The key is: just get started!
