LAURA MARIE

Laura Marie, once the lead singer of Texas bands Sofa Kingdom and
Things Between, is on her own now and in the midst of completing her
first solo project . You can find her latest music on her website

Women Rock. Her music is often described as emotive and soothing with
an easy pop sensibility. She's been compared to artists such as Natalie
Merchant and Aimee Mann but has her own perspective that is changing as
rapidly as her personal life.

Currently expecting her second child, Laura Marie agrees that
motherhood has had a huge effect on her writing which is far more
personal and reflective now than ever before. She feels the change has
come from having to live more honestly and less selfishly and from
being far enough removed from past events in her life to be able to
work with them objectively. She maintains the emotion but is less
self-conscious about it. Some songs, yet to be released, will touch on
spiritual and cultural aspects that she wasn't comfortable working with
in the past.

studio working on more new material.
